I got some fantastic news today: Dr. Berger-Weiss, who last Thursday removed my ovaries and Fallopian tubes, called me today to let me no that no trace of cancer was found by the pathology lab. YAY! She had also removed what she thought was a fibroid (who knew these benign tumors could "migrate" from the uterus to the ovaries?) and it was indeed a fibroid.
Back on June 4, I had a breast MRI, and they found no evidence of cancer there either. I consider myself to be so very lucky to be able to take action proactively -- through prophylactic surgeries -- to prevent myself from getting breast or ovarian cancer. I have seen many people go through chemo and radiation, including my mom and my brother, and am doing what I can to avoid having to do that.
